02Deep-Dive Technical Analysis

The attackers harvested publicly available video and audio footage of the company's UK-based Chief Financial Officer and executive colleagues. Using real-time generative diffusion models and low-latency voice-cloning neural networks, they synthesized real-time video and audio feeds into a multi-party WebRTC video conference call. The synthesized avatars responded to questions and instructed the employee to make 15 separate transactions totaling $25.6M across Hong Kong bank accounts.

03Vulnerability & Exploit Flow

Exploit Vector

Real-time generative AI video and voice deepfake synthesis over WebRTC video channels.

04Recommended Defense & Mitigation Protocol

Operator Hardening Strategy

Implement out-of-band multi-person cryptographic transaction authorization, hardware security token signing, and deepfake artifact detection algorithms.

05Security Impact & Geopolitical Consequence

The largest recorded synthetic media telecommunications fraud in history, proving that real-time video and voice streams can no longer be accepted as proof of identity without cryptographic out-of-band verification.
